من اجل تعزيز قدرة العراق على زيادة إنتاج النفط مما يعزز الاقتصاد الوطني وتوفير فرص العمل وخلق فرص عمل جديدة للعراقيين في قطاع النفط والغاز مع جذب الاستثمارات لدعم الاقتصاد المحلي وتطوير البنية التحتية النفطية بما يعزز دور العراق كقوة نفطية إقليمية ودولية تراس السيد الوكيل الفني لوزارة البيئة الدكتور جاسم عبد العزيز حمادي الفلاحي الاجتماع الخاص بمناقشة مراجعة الدليل الأسترشادي لمنح الموافقات البيئية للأنشطة النفطية وتسهيل اجراءات منح الموافقات البيئية للمشاريع كون هذه المشاريع العصب الأساسي للاقتصادالوطني والحماية البيئة من الاثار الناتجة عن الأنشطة النفطية بحضور مستشار رئيس مجلس الوزارء لشؤون البيئة الدكتور علي عبد الزهرة اللامي ومدير عام الدائرة الفنية الدكتورة نجلة محسن الوائلي وممثلي القطاع النفطي والفريق الفني في الوزارة .
بين السيد الوكيل الفني اهمية منح الموافقات البيئة للانشطة النفطية باعتبارها العصب الاساسي للاقتصاد العراقي مع المرونة في استمرار هذه المشاريع والانشطة وتطبيق المعايير البيئة شرطا لاستمرارها وضمان صحة المواطنين وسلامة المجتمع
اضافا الفلاحي مع السادة الحضور مقترحات مهمة لاختصار الوقت وتذليل العقبات وتحقيق الجانب الفني في سلامة البيئة والانسان وايجاد حلول عملية لاستمرار المشاريع النفطية وتطوير البنى التحتية مع الالتزام بالمعايير البيئية التي يجب أن تلتزم بها الأنشطة النفطية :
1. تقييم الأثر البيئي: إجراء تقييم شامل للأثر البيئي قبل بدء أي مشروع نفطي.
2. تقليل الانبعاثات: تقليل انبعاثات الغازات الدفيئة والملوثات الهوائية.
3. إدارة النفايات: إدارة النفايات النفطية بشكل آمن وفعال.
4. حماية المياة : حماية مصادر المياه العذبة من التلوث.
5. استعادة البيئة : استعادة البيئة المتضررة بعد انتهاء الأنشطة النفطية.
6. السلامة البيئية : ضمان السلامة البيئية في جميع مراحل الأنشطة النفطية.
7. المراقبة والتقارير : مراقبة الامتثال للمعايير البيئية وتقديم تقارير دورية.

Dr. Jassim Abdul Aziz Hamadi Al-Falahi, Technical Deputy Minister of Environment, chaired a meeting to review the Guideline for Granting Environmental Approvals for Oil Activities, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance Iraq’s capacity to increase oil production while supporting the national economy.
The meeting focused on strengthening the role of the oil and gas sector in generating employment opportunities for Iraqis, attracting investments, and developing oil infrastructure, thereby reinforcing Iraq’s position as a regional and global oil power.
Discussions also addressed ways to facilitate environmental approval procedures for oil projects, recognizing these projects as a fundamental pillar of Iraq’s economy, while ensuring that environmental protection remains a central priority.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ali Abdul Zahra Al-Lami, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Environmental Affairs, Dr. Najla Mohsen Al-Waeli, Director General of the Technical Department at the Ministry of Environment, representatives of the oil sector, and the Ministry’s technical team.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Falahi emphasized the importance of environmental approvals for oil activities as a key element in supporting Iraq’s economy. He highlighted the need to maintain flexibility to ensure the continuation of oil projects while strictly applying environmental standards to safeguard public health and community well-being.
Participants also discussed several proposals aimed at reducing administrative delays and overcoming procedural challenges, while maintaining the technical standards required to protect both the environment and human health. The discussions focused on identifying practical solutions to ensure the continuity of oil projects and the development of oil infrastructure while maintaining strict environmental compliance.
The meeting reaffirmed a set of key environmental standards that oil activities must adhere to, including:
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA): Conducting a comprehensive environmental assessment before initiating any oil project.
Emission Reduction: Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants from oil operations.
Waste Management: Ensuring safe and effective management of oil-related waste.
Water Protection: Protecting freshwater resources from contamination.
Environmental Restoration: Rehabilitating affected environments after oil operations are completed.
Environmental Safety: Ensuring environmental safety throughout all stages of oil activities.
Monitoring and Reporting: Monitoring compliance with environmental standards and submitting periodic reports.
This initiative reflects the Ministry of Environment’s commitment to balancing economic development with environmental protection, ensuring sustainable resource management and supporting Iraq’s path toward sustainable development.
